Self evaluation of Reasearch and Planning
I think throughout the process of research and planning my group and i have dug deep and tried our best to find out the background of our music video. Every little thing in our music video was planned for. This was due to our research into other music videos.
For example i researched Madness' hit "Baggy Trousers"
I wanted to know who it would appeal to, why the song was created and a little research into some of the lyrics.
The video was set in a school, so this could also appeal to children in schools, both in primary and secondary can relate to it. The song is about the band looking back at their school days. One of the lyrics goes "All i learnt at school, was how to bend and break the rules." Madness are reaching out to a large audience, boys misbehaving at school will like this song.

Evaluation
Main Evaluation
In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Our film opening was based on
a boxing match and the preparation for the boxing match. The conventions you
usually see in a boxing match and boxing films are lots of arguments in pre
match conference and lots of hard work in training to beat their opponent.
In our opening we tried to
meet and match the typical conventions found in boxing films. We tried hard not
to break any of the conventions too. In typical boxing films we see lots of
branded clothed worn by boxers. For example in out film one of the boxers is wearing
Nike. Typically these sort of brands pop up in every boxing film.
Our other boxer is wearing
adidas originals. Adidas originals has been used in boxing films for years and
years, so here we’re not breaking any conventions. Matching conventions between the narrative is huge. If we broke any during our music video then our audience may wake in confusion due to breaking of conventions. That why we tried to relate every single aspect of our music video to boxing - matching conventions.
We could have played with the colour coordination of music video, as some of the most famous boxing films are in black and white, we decided to take a more modern approach whilst trying not to break our conventions.
During the gym session we tried to vary the camera shots as much as possible. Getting a view on every angle and not trying to break any conventions
